Mrs Jenny Hamilton
Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Margaret is available daily 09:00 - 12:00 by appointment, after referral from the doctor or nurse.  Wednesday morning is specifically for INR patients only from 09:00 - 12:00. Appointments 09:00 - 10:20 are for fasting blood samples and from 10:30 - 11.50 for non-fasting blood samples.  Margaret, Kate & Charlene do the weekly INR clinic on a rota basis via coaguchek.  Advantages to the patient, only a finger prick required, sample is dosed and patient has their result  and a review date and time before leaving the surgery.

Kate McGlinchey (receptionist) has trained in phlebotomy and is available on a Thursday morning 08:30 - 11:20, following referral from the doctor or nurse.
